It is rare, but sometimes when you meet people they feel familiar and instantly comfortable. At our first meeting we chatted with Sam over favorite styles of beer, local places to satiate foodie tendencies, and dreams of future travels. He laughed as he recounted how he serendipitously met Sarah, who happened to live in the same building he did, at a New York City bar. He told us about their first date to a grocery store, an effort to make time for one another in a hectic life. And how he couldn’t imagine his luck in finding his perfect fun-loving match.
Their proposal was arguably the happiest we have ever witnessed. Sarah loves gardens and Sam made it his mission to find the perfect one to propose to her in. After weeks of setting up his romantic ruse, the excitement was too much. As soon as they arrived to the rendezvous spot, he dropped to his knee. Overwhelmed with joy, Sarah beamed as she accepted.
We always appreciate those few moments after a marriage proposal. Allowing the moment to really sink in for them. As we explored the grounds of the Chevy Chase Club, Sam and Sarah smiled uncontrollably. They finished the evening celebrating with warm hugs from close family.
