Our Approach

We believe your wedding photos should say more about you than that you know how to stand and smile at the camera. We want to tell your story by creating images that reflect your true selves. What makes you click as a couple. The little quirks of your personalities. The moms crying, brotherly hugs, and quirky cousins’ dance moves all add up to create the full picture of your wedding day. How do we do that? Trust is key. Your trust in us allows us to make beautiful images and let’s you be a little vulnerable. We let moments unfold in front of us, but we are not shy about wrangling Uncle Ed when he’s disappeared during family photos. Weddings are a team effort and we’ve got your back.

FAQs

• Who is our ideal client?

We need to connect with you as humans. If you allow yourselves to be present, to be vulnerable, your photos will reflect that great mood. If photography is one of the most important things about your wedding day, we want to talk.

• What style would we say we are?

In a word, warmth. It's a mix of photojournalism and creative portraiture that strives to give you feelings of being home.

• How long do we hold on to your photos?

Forever. Really. The idea of deleting a photo from your wedding gives us anxiety. We have servers that get backed up in the cloud and have no intention of deleting any of it ...ever.

• What is a first look?

When you and your partner see each other in wedding attire for the first time before your ceremony. It's a perfect excuse to gather a quiet moment to yourselves and have some comfortable portraits right after. This also gives us the opportunity to knock out some formal photos before the ceremony, leaving you and others to attend more of cocktail hour. We recommend a first look, but it's not a requirement.

• What if there are questions outside of photography?

While we do recommend hiring a planner or month-of/day-of coordinator, we're always there to answer questions if you run into hurdles when planning your wedding. You'll also hear from us at least two times between our first meeting and your wedding.

• How do we handle all the details?

You will have a web portal that houses your key information. We also send a questionnaire a couple weeks before the big day that covers anything from locations and times to lists of family portraits.

What about travel?

If your wedding is within 45 miles of DC, we don't charge for travel. If it's further, we'd still love to talk.
