Early mornings in the mountains are the best. You have the whole day ahead of you and the only thing that matters is the hike ahead. We went to Bears Den Overlook with Kurt and Shannon a little after sunrise. I think we were the first on the trail that day, beating out a few early morning trail runners. They are some of the most easy going people—always up for anything and do so with a smile. Kurt proposed to Shannon a couple months prior and we were there to capture it at Thomas Jefferson Memorial.
