Geoff reached out to us about proposing to his girlfriend Kaylie on their trip to Washington, DC, and we were so excited to help him out. We ended up planning a sweet private proposal in Meridian Hill Park with some beautiful fall engagement photos afterward.

When Geoff reached out with his plans to propose to Kaylie, he knew he wanted somewhere private and off the beaten path, but that still had a nice view of the DC monuments. Since they were going to be in town visiting from Pittsburgh, he needed someone with knowledge of DC to make location recommendations. I knew that Meridian Hill Park would be the perfect spot. The park is just north of the monuments in a residential neighborhood but is elevated enough that you can still spot the memorials. Plus, the park has gorgeous fall foliage that I knew would shine this time of year.
Although the weather in the days leading up to the proposal was less than ideal, we were thankful to have a clear afternoon for Geoff and Kaylie. Upon their arrival, Geoff and Kaylie made their way up the dramatic staircase to a small, secluded area just off the lower plaza. Geoff dropped to one knee, and the rest was history!
Proposal at Meridian Hill Park
After Kaylie said yes and had a few moments to soak in her new ring, we spent some time taking engagement photos around the park. Meridian Hill Park is built on a few levels with several interconnected stairwells and has tons of great little nooks for photos! The architecture around the park is really incredible and we enjoyed having so many different spots to choose from.
Geoff and Kaylie’s proposal was so special to witness. These two were incredibly sweet, and I’m so glad we could capture such a beautiful moment for them!
