Hannah and Avneesh’s intimate elopement at the DC War Memorial was such a special day. From including their dog, to grabbing ice cream cones on the Mall, they filled their day with small moments that perfectly represented their relationship.

Avneesh met me at the top of the Watergate steps where we waited with anticipation for Hannah to arrive for their first look and a few portraits before their morning elopement. They were both so excited to see each other for the first time. Even though the morning was chilly, their ear to ear smiles filled the moment with warmth.
After portraits, we headed over to the DC War Memorial, where we met Hannah’s father and their dog Kulfi. Hannah’s sweet dad flew across the country to officiate the ceremony while Kulfi dutifully stood by. Each word of Hannah and Avneesh’s vows were thoughtful, heartfelt, emotional, and even brought Hannah’s dad to shed a tear.
Once they said their I do’s, we headed over to the reflecting pool for some portraits with Kulfi, before Hannah’s dad took her home. Avneesh, Hannah and I then made our way to one of their favorite spots in the city – the food trucks behind the Museum of African American History. One of their favorite dates is grabbing ice cream cones there, so we knew it had to be a part of their big day.
After they shared some ice cream, we met back up with Hannah’s dad at Old Ebbitt Grill for celebratory drinks and lunch. I was so grateful to get to witness their close relationship with Hannah’s dad, and how proud he is of their marriage. To wrap up our time together we cheersed to the newlyweds and their gorgeous elopement day.
