When the tasks of daily life and business running regularly convince you that it is better to stay home, often times you find yourself feeling rather isolated. The notion of not asking friends to venture out with you because “they’re so busy too” is all too familiar to me.
Caroline and I have known each other since our college days. She is a delicate, hilarious, and charming person. We’ve commiserated in dorm rooms over art and guys alike, spent countless evenings celebrating life, and even seen each other get married to our soulmates. While others of our college friends have moved away, Caroline and I are some of the few stragglers still in the DC area. After several attempts at scheduling; thwarted by bad weather, or bad luck, we were finally able to escape our offices and wander around Ellicott City together. We found chipped paint and moss covered walls, coffee shops and knick-knack stores, and in return the light found her blue eyes, red lips, and yellow dress.
